HEADWAY PROJECTS

Training

In-house training is made available to Volunteers and, when possible, to external carers.

Student Placements

We work in partnership with Buckinghamshire and Chiltern University College and provide a ‘Preparation for Practice’ placement for social work students. The placement length can vary depending on the course and the needs of the student.

Cycle Helmet Awareness

Headway Thames Valley actively promotes the wearing of cycle helmets for all. We run a programme of education to ensure that the wearing of helmets is promoted, particularly in schools. 20% of brain injuries in children are caused by cycling accidents. Wearing a helmet reduces the risk of severe head injury by up to 88%.

Raising Awareness

Headway Thames Valley work to raise awareness of brain injury and its effects. We are able to come along to meetings and events to talk about this and our work locally. If you would like us to come along to your meetings please contact us. We have previously attended meetings of various Lions Groups, Rotary Clubs, Women’s Institutes etc.
