PERSONAL EXPERIENCES

BRIAN
I enjoy coming to Headway. It helps to keep your mind active with games and activities. They help memory strategies so that I can recall. I think meeting other people with head injuries help you appreciate the things you can still do rather than dwelling on the negative.

It makes you more aware of how a head injury can occur. I look out for other things that could result in an accident.

Headway has recently started table-tennis coaching which I very much enjoy.

ALAN
When I come to Headway I enjoy playing dominoes with my friend Joe. I often bring a music CD with me. I have a large collection of CDs. I like a wide variety of music from the 60s through to modern pop.

JULIA
I enjoy coming to Headway because I meet all my friends here. On Monday at 1pm an Art Therapist comes in. I made two beautiful collages, the first one was about the musical instrument. The second craftwork was of two butterflies and beautiful flowers, I took this one home. Yesterday I gave it to Kelly’s children.

On Wednesday in the morning next week Stuart, the Music Therapist, will take me on more drumming lessons. Before my accident I used to have a set of drums and I miss playing them very much.

In the afternoon kind Paul always takes me on a computer session.
